Hello, I barely am able to find tattoos for vam, and wanted to just create my own. I have seen only one guide of how to create tattoos in blender and it seems way too complicated for me to grasp. Is there a different way, even if more limited, of shaping, uploading and placing tattoos on a character?
thanks!

You can use the decal maker plugin to do more simple tattoos. Save a design as a .png with a blank background and add it to the body part in dacalmaker. Turn the transparancy down a bit and then you can edit the scale and rotation and even save the edited version. You won't be able to go over texture seems though.

This certainly worked! the only thing I couldnt figure out is how to put a tattoo on the back side as the body map is spread from the front, but everything else worked easily just fine!

You're welcome.

I often use it to get the colour/transparency looking right in vam. You can also use decal maker to scale/edit multiple images as layers and output the textures, then stack them into one image with an image editor.

Yes, It's annoying that the middle of the back is where the texture seam goes. Beware of the uv set on the skin you are using, as they can have slightly different seams. Custom looks use the "Base Female" uv set.

I do have a guide on texture painting over seams, but that is a little more in depth and requires 3d and 2d editing software. I use blender and gimp, both of which are free.
