Official Community thoughts on a swag store

We are considering opening an official print-on-demand merchandise store for VaM.

We don't want this to be seen as a money-grab, so if we implemented it we'd be working hard to keep the prices as low as possible by keeping the markup at a range where it basically covers the cost of running the store. What we are hoping is that it would open up the door to being able to create some cool opportunities for community involvement!

Adding items, such as a t-shirt, coffee mug, hoodie, or wall poster is essential zero-cost so we'd have the opportunity to do things like running a community event where the top winners get to design graphics that will end up in the store, or offering merch as prizes.

Not to mention the opportunity for community suggestions, memes, and inside jokes we could add to the products.

We've never done anything like this before, so we wanted to get some community feedback! Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Good idea but shipping costs outside the US might be expensive. Maybe you could sell the logo and let people get it printed on things themselves.

Not sure on the international shipping prices yet, but international shipping will at least be available.

Unfortunately licensing out our trademarks won't be in the cards.

I know right?! Even if this Shop idea kind of falls flat, I at least want a shirt or hoodie that says something ridiculous like "I am MeshedVR". Then wear it in public and see if anyone says anything.

As somebody who worked trade shows for years, I can tell you that pants/shorts/leggings are usually a bad idea because there are so many sizes. With any kind of shirts, you can get away with 4 sizes. Trade show giveaways were usually mugs, bottles, bags, pins, and hats. I guess fidget spinners are so 5 minutes ago now...

Side note: You do realize this is an adult app, right? If anybody asks you "What's VaM?" you'll have to think twice about answering. I'd guess a lot of the PornHub merch gets sold to industry insiders.

As somebody who worked trade shows for years, I can tell you that pants/shorts/leggings are usually a bad idea because there are so many sizes. With any kind of shirts, you can get away with 4 sizes. Oh, I wouldn't care to be honest. Some people already know about VaM and many people also know I was a member of SuicideGirls for a while. I don't really care if people know. Everyone watched porn, so why deny or hide it? I talk almost daily about porn with people around me. I also don't really care what people think. Many people are exactly more interested then being judgemental.

Yeah, trying to explain what VaM is to my kids would be problematic if I had merch sitting around the house. But it is a cool idea for people who don’t have issues explaining that kind of stuff.

I probably wouldn't get something to wear around town. The logo colors aren't really my vibe, for one. I also have very curious and clever kids in the house. But something I can enjoy quietly for myself, like a coffee mug? Yeah for sure.

Honestly, now?,no!. There are many good arguments in here why not. Where VAM comes from probably affects many, especially with all the parents here.
VAM is in a way locked into its own universe which is equal to porn. But as I answered another user, for many it's much more. Try and see how many hours people spend creating things for VAM!, it's not just A 10 min fap for everyone. But if I see justification for selling merch, VAM must have a different expression or at least a parallel platform. Imagine a cool bombshell woman alla GTA5/6 with VAM expression on a t-shirt. can it be sold?, surely because it has the right ingredients and the expression will have a different effect. But that doesn't change the expression must be redone if merch is to be a success, in addition to a nice coffee mug that i would love to.

This is a good conversation starter as VAM is widely unknown and its potential implications in many areas unsurpassed by much larger projects in our current pre-AI dominated market. Sex drives mainstream innovation in proxy ways. Always has and always will.
