Is it save to just move Vam folder onto another drive? Are there gonna be some paths issues?

It's safe. You can even have more than one VaM folder, I have two more for other purposes besides the "playing" VaM.

Making a backup, something you should have, is also as simple as making a copy of your VaM folder.
