Heya!

I have a bit of knowledge of VAM but still learning of course. I came across a weird thing that I've only seen in VERY few scenes.

I cannot move one of the Person Atoms... What I mean by this is I can select them but I get no direction arrows or any rotations. Its as if its locked... I can still move via Move and nothing is locked and I can still add a random cube, parent and move THAT way but... trying to figure out why I cant do any edits in this scene. Is there a setting I am overlooking? Was this disabled via a hotkey? I seem to only see this in like... 3 scenes ever, and one of them is Love Workshop.

Any help would be grateful!

You can try to look under the "Move" tab (above the tab you're showing) if there is any position locked.

I did some tinkering and found this worked. I had to make a trigger for these... is there any box somewhere that does this because its kinda wild to have to make a trigger to be able to grab position/rotation

Two more options:
  • Edit the scene JSON to the same set of values you set in the triggers (more cumbersome but an option)
  • Legacy reset pose in "Control Physics 1" might do the trick too

If the scene you're trying to modify has the character's "control" node stored in the Timeline plugin, then if you move it, it will snap back to where Timeline had it. You can change that by using the Stop button in Timeline, setting time back to 0, then moving the character and saving the pose in the Pose tab of Timeline. If there are multiple poses stored in Timeline, with the control node saved, you would have to change all of them.

I may just do that, but honestly the scenes which have this in them I dont plan on going back to the orig if I edit them and save. Reopening after the edit on my own its fine.
I tried the Legacy reset pose and it does revert position and return the axis but on the next timeline animation they disappear, works but not really.

There is no control node on the scenes I've witnessed this sadly...

Its like how when you grab an atom, in the control menu on the right hand side, the toggle to grab something via position or rotation, those are uncheck, however on a person Atom those boxes dont exist so unsure how the OG creator even did this, but for now making a trigger seems to be the best way to fix this without having to do file edits and legacy pose doesnt work long-term.

I've solved this for now unless there is an simpler way I am way overlooking

Yeah, I've only seen this once or twice and is pretty odd how that came to be. My suspicion is that the scene maker is trying to prevent the animations being reused in some other way, but that would only stop someone really new to editing scenes anyway. It's just strange to see this.

I played with Love Workshop a while. I think the issue is that all the keyframes have locations for the hip, head, hands and feet. I think that makes moving the character a sum of all of those.
