ZRSX submitted a new resource:

A basement full of fucking machines - A simple scene using the fucking machine subscenes

It seems that this basement is not only used for storage. Funny noises are coming from down there. Care to take a look?

This is a simple scene using the full set of fucking machines. I was hoping to see some scenes using them, but there are none so far... so sad
So here is one!

Please share some more, I'm sure there is...

It's a very cool scene !!
Some suggestions :

Add "E-Motion" and "Glance", it make it more hot.
The animations are nice but they re maybe a little bit too slow.

You think you'll tweak it or add some new content to it ? I know that it was supposed to be a demo for using your assets but it came become something more interesting :)

Tbh it's not on my top priority list, but I could come back to it at some point.

As a global rule, I try to keep the dependencies at a strict minimum. I assume that people could easily add the stuff they like on top of it (plugins, but also clothing, hair, etc.).
But as it was mostly done for those not having the Creator key, I guess I should add more by default ;)
I haven't tried those yet (I've downloaded them but never took the time to experiment), I'll see if they can really bring something. Thx for the tip!

Hey, I was playing with subscenes and made a discovery that made me think of your toys. By default SubScenes freeze their physics when you pick them up so when you try and use your toys in VR they just clip through people. In the Control tab there is an option to disable this so they can be used properly. Works great!

Yeah, I discovered that too! It looks way better. That's what you can see in this demo video: https://www.redgifs.com/ifr/remarkablelightyellowredtailedhawk

I just checked, and it is indeed missing in the latest version of the machines. I must have messed up in my versioning ?
Thanks for noticing, I'll update it!

Ok, I got it. I didn't mess up and I'm not crazy (or at least not in this case).

It appears that this option is not saved within the "Subscene" save file. I think is it because it is in the "Control" tab of the subscene and not in the subscene itself: it's "higher level" so it's not included, if it makes sense.

You have to save it at scene level. Sadly it seems that there's nothing I could do for the fucking machines subscenes themselves.
At least I can fix it in this scene.

I've pushed the investigation a little further and I've noticed that it's possible to uncheck this option using triggers:

But I tried to hook that to the "On" button of a machine, but as I expected, the "control" of a subscene is considered "outside" of it. Here's the warning when you try to save the subscene:

This means I could add this trigger into the subscenes, but it'll only work if the subscene has kept its original name. I.e. it won't work if is called "ABeadMach#2" (in this case it'll unfreeze the other machine called "ABeadMach"... or nothing if there's nothing using this name).
It's better than nothing, I guess.

Yes there are some screwy things going on with SubScenes. The warning about being outside of subscene is just information, it can be safely ignored.

Ooh I just realised that the SubScene bug which turns on the Auto set UID option can be fixed in the same way with a trigger to the SubScene. This is pretty huge, it means they can be stored in proper hierarchical folder structures. Hmm maybe not, never mind.
