Hi Guest!
Please be aware that we have released another critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.12 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.
Details about the security patch can be found here.
@keycode I agree. Up until the controllers stopped working I was most happy. I still haven't got this figured out. I'm just curious if you've kept up with the latest updates for VAM and SteamVR and WMR? I'm wondering if updating those screwed up my setup. I'm just so confused as to why my...
So, budget is not the problem. I'm absolutely fine to invest in something that just works. I'm narrowing it down I think between the Quest 3 this fall and an Index. If anyone has other thoughts, I'd love to hear them. Thanks for everyone's advice.
Sorry for the slow reply to you both. Had to go on a work assignment.
I'm at the place too where I just want the friggin thing to work. And, if you look on eBay the G2s are selling dirt cheap... perhaps vam is not the only incompatibility problem.
I'll take a look at the Index. Thanks.
I might be looking to sell my HP Reverb G2 and get another headset. I'm looking for recommendations of sets that of course look good, but the big thing I want is a headset that just "works" without a bunch of controller glitches. In surfing the web and forums, I find the G2 and VaM have a...
Atani, thank you so much for all of your effort in trying to help me. I'll jump in Discord and see.
On a separate not do you or anyone else reading this thread have a suggestion as to a different headset other than the G2 that seems to work with VaM exceptionally well that doesn't have a bunch...
First, a simple request. If you have a HP Reverb G2 and it's working in VaM, can you PLEASE share a screen grab of your binding settings and a grab of your VaM VR preferences? I'm at my wits end and have been out of VaM in VR for months.
If you want to read my full history and tech problems...
Update on this. I gave up trying to fix this and I just started migrating to a new install, but, I did discover that if I install VAM and open it in Steam VR, then later move that VAM install to another folder, Steam doesn't recognize the controller anymore no matter what I do.
Also, I noticed...
Believe it or not, I'm pushing this with a used GeForce GTX 1060 6GB. So long as I keep the environment simple and no more than 2-3 characters, it pleases me. This is the best card I could get when I built the system a few months back. I'm using 32GB of Ram, Gen10 i5 processor and all SSDs with...
Thanks for responding. No, the hands are not viewable in VaM and the buttons are not responsive on * this* install. [Now, on another new install in a separate folder, they work just fine in that VaM.] Everything works when I'm in SteamVR and all other apps. And, when I'm in that VaM install, I...
Here is the deal, everything was fine. I've been running a Reverb G2 on a new windows 10 box with the creator version of VAM for months. I got a new hard drive and I moved VAM to a new drive for more space. VAM still works and the VR headset is still great but the HP controllers are...
@Williamwow123 thanks! I'll take it from here. And on the VR unless I hear a compelling reason from other VAMers to contrary I'm probably gonna hit the G2. Thanks again.
@Williamwow123 thanks for this. Now, forgive my ignorance because this is the first build I've done in a while (been on the Mac train for about 15 years). On the ram, are you telling me to replace this ram with 3200 mhz ram or are you telling me to set something in BIOS to make the ram I have...
First off, VAM is amazing. This is a fantastic time to be in our "world" if you know what I mean.
I'm hoping to get a recommendation on the headset and video card I should get. Here is my current setup and my priorities:
I have this board:
