• Happy Holidays Guest!

We want to announce that we will be working at reduced staffing for the holidays. Specifically Monday the 23rd until Jan 2nd.

This will affect approval queue times and responses to support tickets. Please adjust your plans accordingly and enjoy yourselves this holiday season!

  • Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.

Other CPU Performance Patch (Up to 30% faster physics, up to 60% more FPS)

@turtlebackgoofy - thanks again for this great patch, just curious if this is something you are still progressing on or if this will be the final state for the time being. thanks, Adam

    Other VAR Manager

No rush, wouldn't have even thought of it if it hadn't happened to me. I have a 20tb raid 5 and had an ungraceful shutdown, but caching is TURNED OFF so it's odd that it even happened

    Other VAR Manager

@bill_prime , love your tool, been using it for years - thank you Recently i had some file corruption and out of my ~15k vars about 1,000 were bad. Var Manager currently has the popup to identify "bad" or "corrupt" vars, would it be possible to add an option to MOVE those to a folder or...

Other CPU Performance Patch (Up to 30% faster physics, up to 60% more FPS)

Also, for those using process lasso, and i meant to mention earlier as I have been using with vam for years. Cpu sets works better for me than affinity. CPU sets allow you to tell the app to only use the affinity you set UNLESS it runs out of power. If it needs cores beyond for example the...

Happy to test a beta, also would love to see it implemented directly. Thanks for your work here.

Other CPU Performance Patch (Up to 30% faster physics, up to 60% more FPS)

Some are dupes, but I asked GPT4 for additional values and it came back with the below. Not sure if these have been tried already. async-upload-buffer: Sets the size of the buffer used for asynchronous texture and mesh data uploads. Larger buffers might improve loading times at the cost of...

Other CPU Performance Patch (Up to 30% faster physics, up to 60% more FPS)

@turtlebackgoofy - I've been following this since you uploaded it, great great work. I think it would benefit from a discord server OR if @meshedvr would consider adding a channel on the VAM discord. Clearly theres a lot of interest in discussing. Again, great work

Sorry, late to the party - i successfully use vrperfkit through Virftual Desktop USING THE OCULUS connection (not steamvr). I do this with my quest 2 AND Vive Focus 3 AND Vive XR Elite Not sure why others are struggling. Side note I use this in conjunction with the snapdragon super...

    Other Hologram

Thanks Michael, me personally, I'm looking for simply a better description of what you are trying to accomplish. How much of this is software and how much is hardware? How accessible is the DIY portion and what kind of background is needed? Food for thought, maybe share a detailed description...

I went to your patreon, can you tell us more about this " (Tutorials and digital content will be available once the devellopment process allows it.) " I'm inclined to support you but need to understand how close you are to a prototype and that it isn't just vapor ware :) - is this is still...

Cool, happy to help. I usually use VD with steamvr and this - while you lose the ability for the fixed foveated from holger's newer VRperf, this is still my favorite way to use VAM in vr. My reasons: - Huge GPU utilization decline for almost the same graphics - VD allows me to seemlessly...

I think you're overthinking it man, that zip literally only has the 3 files in the screenshot. If it were a vanilla vam instance you would simply paste those 3 files into Drive:\VAM\VaM_Data\Plugins\ (replacing or renaming the original openvr_api.dll). Then you would open vam.exe as always...

So the link you have, https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr/releases/tag/fsr_v2.1.1 is correct, but the zip shoouldn't have dxgi or vrperf, it should look like the screenshot below. Copy both files to Drive:\VAM\VaM_Data\Plugins\ (replacing or renaming the original openvr_api.dll) Then open...

Guides How to launch without SteamVR (Performance Increase)

Great writeup, worth noting, as of today, HTC devices are using SteamVR's openxr runtime - so for HTC headsets using SteamVR is still a requirement unfortunately.
