I seen the implementation... very nice of you to do that. I just did a test and I did specify a backup location, however it still created the backup in the same directory of VAM. Could it be that it I selected a different drive to back up to? Such as, my VAM is on I:/ and I was backing up to B:/

How do you only scan for missing references? I checked the box for "scan saves\scene for references" and I checked all of the boxes for "scan local presets for references" but I do not see anywhere that actually starts the scan.

Is there a way to make it continue even after it finds an invalid package name? Or maybe to automatically mark the invalid package for deletion?
