A preset (.vap) is not a VAR, it goes to other places. Your locally saved presets are are also there.

A appearance preset is in Characters > Fantasy > appearance button. It is a appearance preset. Move the appearance preset to where it should be in Custom/Atom/Person/Appearance.

I was thinking about using your asset on a free scene but the ND license means I can't use the cum clothing I was hoping to use. In this case I need your permission. Would you give me permission to add clothing on your model and ignore the ND part? Thanks for sharing

The scene doesn't provide the appearances for the reasons above, but you can get them on my website and a lot more stuff if you're interested. In there I share the presets as vap files only, you'll need to get the dependencies (free and paid) yourself and have to read the vap text or error log...
