winds.....Winds.....WINDS!!!
INTRODUCING Wind Machine!
VaM’s normal wind pushes all the hair at the same time, so it moves as one piece.
Wind Machine is different. It pushes every hair strand and every part of the cloth on its own.
Hair flutters, tips dance, skirts lift and ripple, and gusts roll through your scene like real wind.
Once you see it, you won’t want to go back.
The wind
Works on every piece of sim hair and sim clothing in the scene, by itself
Set the wind speed and overall power
Vary Wind Speed: the wind gets stronger and softer over time
Gusts and turbulence, with control over strength and size
Gust Balance: choose how much gusts add to the wind
Direction Range: the wind slowly swings left, right, up and down inside limits you set
PRO: Wind Area, to keep the wind near one spot, so far-away figures are skipped
Hair
Every strand moves on its own, not as one solid piece
Push Strength: set how hard the wind pushes
Strand Flutter: small, fast movement in the strands
Push Toward Tips: leave the roots calm and move the ends. Great for long hair
PRO: extra strand controls, for how strands and tufts move apart from each other
PRO: Hair Adjust: loosen stiff or painted hair at five points along the strand, and change Weight, Gravity and Drag on every hair piece at once
Clothing
Cloth catches the wind along its surface, like a real sail
Push Toward Hem: leave the pinned parts calm and let skirt edges fly
Also works on sim cloth on atoms that are not figures
PRO: Sideways Drag and finer control of the cloth surface
Body
Wind can also push the body: breasts, glutes, head, torso, arms and legs
Each part has its own strength
PRO: Wind Shelter
The body blocks the wind. Hair and cloth behind a figure stay calmer
Air bends around the body and gets rougher behind it
Figures can shelter each other
Control

Save and load your own presets

PRO: Slots: keep several winds in one scene and change between them

PRO: smooth blending when a preset or slot loads

PRO: scene triggers: fade the wind in, fade it out, or fire a gust on cue
Clean and easy

Nothing is saved into your hair or clothing. Turn it off and everything goes back to normal

Works on any atom

Updates to Distance Haze and SunRig as well!
SunRig
Captured Surroundings: SunRig can now use the real colors of your scene for reflections and fill light.
Surroundings Bounce: new soft light on the side away from the sun, so figures no longer go black.
Fill / Rim Light: a new second light for your figures, with shadow controls.
Sun shafts in screenshots: shafts and glow now show up in VaM screenshots.
Clearer names: some sky and reflection settings are now called “VaM Shader” settings.
DistanceHaze
Cleaner screenshots: haze and depth of field now blur together, so hard edges no longer appear.
New setting name: “Photos Haze At The End” is now “Photos Haze Before DOF”. Your saved scenes still work.
Please note: older scenes will look a little brighter on the shadow side. To get the old look, set Surroundings Bounce to 0.
