destroyed my vam and set most of my vars to hidden even after deleting backstage and the addonpackages its still broken

It asks confirmation before marking content as hidden. To unhide, either uncheck "automatically hide dependencies' content" in settings (in new app version), or manually remove empty *.hide files from VaM/AddonPackagesFilePrefs (this is how VaM hides content, by creating empty *.hide files in this dir). The app doesn't do any operations with content when you're uninstalling/deleting it.
