The plugin itself is a genuine feat of exceptional coding skills, however at this point it's not very workable from the standpoint of a creator who intends on crafting a certain experience for the end user. Would really appreciate a more creator friendly version with most of the options removed (like the forced auto thrusting and the like). A simple set of SEPARATE utilities that are more easily shared with a scene would be a godsend. The female orgasm bit is truly remarkable and brings so much to a scene, however the more that gets added to this plugin, the less "worth it" that feature gets because of the need to search out all the things that have to be turned off/disabled. I (like many other creators I've talked to) wish you would release some of these as separate plugins that could be added individually for creators to use, much like how Logic Bricks was released as separately added tools (your excellent belly bulger and the orgasm plugin specifically for example) because there is too much bloat here for a single plugin.
Did you know that you can set up user defaults for every module except PoseMe? They get loaded whenever you (re)load the plugin. So I don't really get your point. E.g. the auto thrusting isn't "forced". You can disable it and save your FMU preset. Done.
Why is it hard to share BL with your scene? From a coding standpoint it would be a nightmare having to deal with a "light" version referenced by the creator and a full version with duplicated features the user might have set to auto load. The auto loading may be unintentional and could be avoided with a lot of effort from my side, but some users might actually prefer having the full version loaded to get features like the xray or the gaze, which the author didn't include. In this case I had to transfer the settings stored in the utilities you're requesting to the full version. A lot of work. But what for?
To be honest, I don't think there's a single plugin that provides that much features to ease up scene creation and being that flexible at the same time. Take AutoThruster or the Gaze in the Life bundle for example. They both modify the controllers. So it's essentially eat or die. With BL you can synergise with those features using timeline. Let BL do the main thing but animate the head, hip, hand or whatever to customize the experience. Of course you can also just remove the feature entirely and take over yourself. BL doesn't prevent you from expressing your artistic freedom in any way.
On another note: Only by now - one year after the initial release - some scenes are emerging making use of it. It was a really hard time for me in the beginning. I got positive feedback, but all "established" creators were still using the traditional tools like VAMMoan and the likes. During that time BL only had the features you like, and still, none of the big players used it. That's why I'm slowly getting away trying to please those guys. BL provides a unique experience for (semi)new users trying to get something done in VAM. Trust me, I get a lot of positive feedback from those and they can't wait to have even more features included. On top of that BL can ease up scene creation tremendously for experienced users as well. I consider that far more valuable than providingsome utilities for like 10 power users that regularly publish scenes. And again, those 10 could use the full BL as well, they just had to use their "power". If you're already annoyed by disabling a feature with one click (once, then preset), how do you even manage to not get into a solid rage while setting up 100's of keyframes in timeline, managing dozens of triggers and whatnot?
To your rating: The following is based on the fact that 3 stars actually is a bad rating here on the hub.
I don't get it. Your review reads like it is totally subjective. You state that the plugin is really well done but you give it a bad rating only because it doesn't fit your personal needs. And hence you recommend other users not to download it, or at least being cautious. For me, this is comparable with me coming to one of your looks, giving it a 3 star rating telling you "Her nose is really well done. This shows magnificent modeling skills. But she doesn't fit into the current scene I'm building. And others I have talked to don't like her either. I'd rather have a big titted, red haired witch instead!". Get what my point is? Your review is subjective to your situation/taste, plus you're actually requesting another product while giving me a bad rating. Would that up you motivation to fulfill that request (for free)?
If you have a request you could've hit me up on discord (remember? I'm your friend there...) or in the discussion. Once we talked about how much you liked BL during it's early days. And now you rate it bad because it has more (optional) features that a LOT of users consider useful. Do I have to understand this?
Hit me up on discord or the discussion if you want to discuss this further.
