• Happy Holidays Guest!

We want to announce that we will be working at reduced staffing for the holidays. Specifically Monday the 23rd until Jan 2nd.

This will affect approval queue times and responses to support tickets. Please adjust your plans accordingly and enjoy yourselves this holiday season!

  • Hi Guest!

Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.

Details about the security patch can be found here.
Hello Darlings,

This is a non-critical update as I didn't like how dark the hat was or that some people couldn't access it.

Features
  • I tweaked the clipping surface mesh to better match the hat brim, so there will be less hair visible in the back, and more hair visible under the brim.
  • A demo scene has been added to the var
  • This now uses a brighter material and is a little less shiny. The dark version is still in there alone if you prefer it
It was brought to my attention the hat wasn't working in VR, this has been resolved.
I promise this is not a hat you have to download every day.

Thanks <3
Sorry to update so soon after the original share, but the clipping bubble was just too obnoxious when any glass, ui, or transparency-ready object was behind the character. Here are the changes:

  • changed the clipping render queue to affect less stuff. it's now 2410, or AlphaTest-40
  • changed the clipping bubble to be more hat-shaped
  • added a medium and a small clipping option to make any render issues more subtle if there's not a lot of hair issue.
  • separated the collider to its own solo prefab to reduce the number of prefab combinations
  • added a prefab that's ONLY the medium-size clipping surface in case you want to apply it separately (or to another hat)
  • added the HideHair shader to the downloads for creators that want to create a clipping mat for their assets

The clipping surface will still obstruct glass and ui, unless you change their render order to 2409 or less (requires edit mode), not much else to be done about that, I think :/
