Hey, I’ve started creating my own skin textures.

They’re all JPGs, and I’ve already checked the names and file paths for special characters or names that might be too long, but I still can’t find the problem.
Also no error is showing up and the cache is cleared.

But when I save an appearance preset from the finished model and then load that preset again, the diffuse genital texture doesn’t get loaded. I can assign it manually afterward, and then everything works fine again.

I found some similar problems on the forum, but unfortunately no solution.

Maybe there are some experienced people here who can help.

EDIT:
It is not happening everytime. it seems somehow random :/

EDIT 2:
Think i fixed it.

Is it maybe a problem which Skin Preset i use as the base for the model? Changed it to Tina who has no Gen varriations and i might worked.

Try clearing the cache in game, then exit and reinvoke. Maybe something old is still in the cache.

Just guessing that perhaps the "auto generate gens texture" box may be checked for the problem presets. I assume that when generating textures, it would also prevent custom textures from loading.

Thnx for the reply but nope. its off like in the screenshot u see above.

My guess is that maybe the preset skins already include genital textures, which then overwrite the custom ones or prevent them from loading properly. I’ll test that again today or tomorrow.

The other thing I can think of is that sometimes Vam gets confused about pathnames. This can happen when you make a local pose preset with a name that's the same as one in a var, and the tool keeps reverting to the name in the var. Try putting all the textures for one model in one folder. I think I see 3 folders for the textures in your screenshot. Put them all together so maybe Vam has no excuse for mixing them up.
