VaM 1.x DLSS 5 in VAM2

Threads regarding the original VaM 1.x
I used the addon from renodx discord server, and the NR model for 4000 series, plus the bridge above.
DLSS-SR does work, but the renodx addon for NR always say "waiting for game dlss", even if I use DLAA in the dlss bridge mod (ctrl+shift+d to open settings, F10 to apply)

So, I have made my own version of the DLSS 5 plugin which SHOULD work in VR, about to test it. I actually think it makes a HUGE difference. The wife is going to love the new rendered videos using it!

General AI is a scam by NV just like B-coin shit, Real AI is a state-level tool, ordinary people cannot touch it.

Don't waste your time and energy to believing this toy AI (GA).

Guide on how I got mine working for free, theres two ways one if you want DLSS upscaling + DLSS5 or DLSS5 only that someone made to work on any DX11 game that has no DLSS support at all

Tested on a 5070 Ti 2560x1440.

Method 1 (DLSS Upscaling + DLSS5)
1. Download DLSSBridge-v0.19.19-beta14 from arcalive or the direct link to the file https://kio.ac/c/d7aGJJ6or6Tun9n_M6oAab
2. Download latest BepInEx from the github, and download BepInEx_win_x64_5.4.23.5.zip
3. From the BepInEx zip you downloaded, extract 'BepInEx' folder, 'doortstop_config.ini' and 'winhttp.dll' where vam.exe is
4. From the DLSSBridge zip you downloaded, extract 'BepInEx' folder where vam.exe is
5. Download ReShade 6.8.0 with full add-on support and install it to your vam.exe
6. Join the renodx discord,if you don't see dlss5 thread go to 'browse channels', under event space, check #dlss5, once in, check the pin and download 'renodx-dlss5.addon64' and 'streamline.zip'
7. Put 'renodx-dlss5.addon64' where vam.exe is, extract all files inside 'streamline' folder (from streamline.zip) where vam.exe is, go through your bepinex folder 'BepInEx\plugins\VaMDLSSBridge\Streamline' and extract all files from the streamline folder into 'streamline'
8. Download the latest DLSS5-DX11-BRIDGE on this github link and put it where vam.exe is
9. Launch Virtamate, to show the DLSS window press Ctrl + Shift + D, Choose DLAA or any quality mode (I've only tested DLAA so far) press Ctrl + Shift + D again to close DLSS window, press HOME key to open reshade, go to 'Add-ons',
you will see DLSS 5 DX11 Bridge addon and DLSS 5 Neural Rendering, under the DLSS 5 Neural Rendering you can see 'DLSSNR v310.8.0: ACTIVE - NR INJECTED' which means it's working
10. There's different styles under the addon, Default, Natural, Cinematic, in the image examples I provided before uses Cinematic and bumping up the intensity slider to max

Note : While you can use DLSS upscaling, I have a problem with browser assists not showing up or not working, so its best to use default scene browser for now

Making sure : have 'BepInEx' folder containing the DLSS bridge, renodx-dlss5.addon64, dlss5-dx11-bridge.addon64, 'dxgi.dll' (reshade), and the streamline nvidia dlss files placed in where vam.exe is

Method 2 (NO DLSS UPSCALING, just DLSS5) - I'm not sure of the quality difference between this and the DLSS upscaling method, but they almost look the same and works suprisingly well without needing DLSS (works in the Sims 4 in my testing)
1. Download dlss5-feed.addon64 and DLSS5_Feed.fx from https://github.com/jlrouzies-fr/DLSS5-Feeder/releases/tag/v0.1.0
2. Download ReShade 6.8.0 with full add-on support and in the 'select effects to install' page, scroll down until you find 'iMMERSE by Marty McFly', tick the box and tick 'MartysModsLAUCHPAD.fx'
3. Put dlss5-feed.addon64 where vam.exe is and put DLSS5_Feed.fx inside the shader folder of reshade '\reshade-shaders\Shaders'
4. Also put renodx-dlss5.addon64 where vam.exe is, and extract all files from streamline folder to where vam.exe is
5. Launch virtamate, press HOME, scroll down until you see iMMERSE : Launchpad, press 'Active to top' button, now scroll down until you see DLSS5 Feed which should be placed below immerse launchpad
6. Check the add-ons and under dlss 5 neural rendering check you can see ''DLSSNR v310.8.0: ACTIVE - NR INJECTED' which means it's working

Note : Browser assists works completely fine

Making sure : have 'dxgi.dll' (reshade), have the DLSS5_Feed.fx inside the shader folder, dlss5-feed.addon64, renodx-dlss5.addon64 and the streamline nvidia dlss files placed in where vam.exe is

Expect FPS to be halved, image example below were using Method 2

I have asked Claude to create a guide to use DLSS in VAM just in case you want to try
I can see @dremwav1 already uploaded a guide, but with this .md Claude or any other AI agent can do everything for you.

Mouth and Hair are the biggest improvements in my opinion, sadly is very expensive for the FPS and I don't know if it's possible to run this in VR

but step 7 might need some clarification. I'm probably just dumb but I have read it about 17 times and am very confused. which streamline goes where? the contents of the streamline folder (the dll files) goes into both where the vam.exe is, and the bepinex streamline folder as well?
 
Great results. I have a feeling DLSS 5 is going to turn my PC case into an explosive device : :unsure:
Actually it's been far less of a hit to FPS than I thought. I am running a 5090 with a 9800x3D, but still, when I render with it on I'm getting 36-55fps at 4k.

That's not what people do, and with the leak, there's enough data in 2 days to show that NR is a massive bias: characters unless from very obvious ethnic background (ie: black people) are massively modified to tend to a more caucasian aspect, lighting gets quite heavily modified and loose some accuracy/fidelity and can even be incoherent, you get all the AI gen bs tropes ( color grading, face features etc )... the list goes on.

This is not gonna happen. The guidelines are very clear, you cannot post a content that does not reflect what you will get when downloading. NR being a 40xx / 50xx (which is only a fraction of the market) and a proprietary tech, it will most certainly not be allowed for resource description/documentation.

And there's a lot more problems trickling down from this: lack of diversity, uniform visual vibe, lack of effort on the source letting NR do the job as you said above... etc etc etc
And this is true for VAM as for the whole game industry... these sort of techs is just the perfect tool for slop production or asset flipping.

Yes, you just extract the streamline dlss to where vam.exe is, and the bepinex streamline folder, i recommend just doing method 2 since the DLSS upscaler mod someone made in arca is still a work in progress and can be buggy

In my opinion, the face still looks pretty strange. But there’s no denying that the lighting and light corrections are good. I see this as a Reshade filter—perhaps the best filter out there.

I’ve seen results where a lighter setting was used, and they looked excellent. However, I’ve also seen others that looked strange, to say the least...

I think this can make an incredible piece of work even more incredible. But it can also make a bad piece of work even worse.

Nope.
You can only consider it's good if :
1 - You don't know the original lighting and you assume the end result is accurate (which isn't)
2 - You look at a screenshot and not a realtime/video version of it
3 - You like what choices it makes for the end result... which is a pure subjective opinion on what "looks good"

I've tested quite extensively the implementation and I'm putting several test case aside to show how bad this look for realtime use. Just the stability and the latency of the NR makes any situation that is not lit in a quite standard manner look quite jarring and uncanny. Even low speed motions or lighting shifts create artifacts that are very distracting, and it's not even consistent over a dozen characters I tested.

This is one of these "api" that look just like the others from NV, like the hair/fur apis, that got hyped for several months or a year or two, then got completely forgotten because it's proprietary and you sink half your framerate for something that looks at best "meh".
