Can someone guide to how long this would take G8F or G9 to G2F for a beginner?

MrGiggly updated Blender 3.2+ Texture Conversion Templates (G3F/G8F/G9 to G2F) or (G2F/G8.1F/G9 to G8F) with a new update entry:

Template added to convert G2F to Alt-Futa

An additional template has been added to convert G2F to Alt-Futa

Process to convert is the same (see guides included with the other templates), however the source has an additional slot to add a male genital texture.
The template will bake the usual 4x G2F texture tiles, although only the Torso and Gens are required for your Alt-Futa.

It is recommended to do some colour matching of the male gen texture against the torso texture first in Photoshop/Gimp so its a closer...

Download the v0.3 file you are interested in and unzip the contents.
Open Blender, then file, open and point it to the blend file

Remember, this version is for Blender 3.2 onwards. There are guides included with most templates.
Maybe you're referring to the old Blender 2.79 templates where you needed to do some extra config to point it to blank textures on your drive? Not needed with this version

Recommend choosing the 'other versions' drop-down and selecting 'portable install' (zip) version
Or
Click on previous versions, then 'download any blender' and select an older zip version - I have tested up to v4.2
Just unzip to a folder of your choice and run the blender.exe. You can add a shortcut to your desktop for future use.

Using portable versions means you can have as many blender versions on your pc as you like

Follow one of the template guides after that
