What do you mean? All dependencies all hub hosted except the paid (lewd) clothing items.

Hi, if any of your dependencies are not Hub hosted, such as JackyCracky.GwenS_Clothes_Lewd.latest, your resource won't be displayed as Hub hosted, even if the resource itself is on the Hub's server. The impact on users is that when they download your resource, they will receive an error message every time they start VAM, indicating that JackyCracky.GwenS_Clothes_Lewd.latest is missing. Many users don't appreciate these error messages. For you, the impact is that in the game client's Hub feature, following its default sorting and display method, your resource will be filtered out and not displayed (you will lose some exposure and showcasing opportunities). Not everyone regularly uses the web-based Hub interface; many people may still access Hub through the client.

So, my suggestion is that since you don't need JackyCracky.GwenS_Clothes_Lewd.latest in this Hub version of the resource, you might consider removing it from the dependencies.

Oh really? I’ve done it this way before and see others doing it as well. My last couple of looks work like this. I only include appearance presets that have the paid lewd items that are not on the hub. But if that means losing exposure it would be a shame, I didn’t know that.

Isn’t the error message only popping up when loading an appearance that has missing assets? I will look into it and update accordingly.

What would your suggestion be to go about the appearance presets with the lewd clothing items? If I upload them separately the package will also include the hairstyles, textures and morphs again and some other stuff. Or I have to upload all those separately too… but I don’t want to upload too many separate packages for dependencies. Want to keep it as clean as possible.

From a perspective of promoting your paid content, I personally suggest that you can showcase parts of your paid content within the scene as image boards. Alternatively, you could package a small portion of your paid content separately within the scene. For example, if a set of clothing consists of several components, you could include one component for users to "preview." However, I'm not entirely sure if this aligns with Hub's guidelines, as I recall that Hub requires free resources not to contain any content that requires paid unlocking. This aspect may need clarification with Hub administrators.

Regardless, the quality of your work is excellent, and I'm only hoping that my suggestions can help more people discover and experience it. :p Making your work appear as "hub hosted" would certainly improve its visibility and reach, that's for sure.

Well I appreciate the help a lot and will definitely look into it! Might update in a couple hours after some testing etc. Maybe I’ll contact a mod about it. Thanks!

If you have any questions or encounter technical issues, you can contact @AshAuryn . He's always willing to help you out. :alien:

By the way, I don't get error messages of missing dependencies when loading VAM or when loading the scene even.
Only when trying to load an appearance which has the missing clothing items do I get an error message.
Or am I missing something?

It's probably because your addon library already has JackyCracky.GwenS_Clothes_Lewd.1.

If you try testing it with a clean VAM copy, placing your resource in the addon folder, and attempting to fix dependencies, it will first show that JackyCracky.GwenS_Clothes_Lewd.latest is not on the hub (except for your Patreon subscribers, as others cannot legally obtain this dependency through other channels). So, the VAM client will only patch the resources available on the Hub. Then, each time you launch VAM, it performs a retrieval scan and informs you with an error message that you are missing the JackyCracky.GwenS_Clothes_Lewd.latest var

No, I tested it correctly.
I do all my creations in a separate VAM CLEAN install.
And for the test I used my main VAM install which didn't contain the lewd clothing yet (only the base clothing items and the free look).

I don't get an error message unless I actively try to load a preset which contains the missing items OR scan the hub for missing dependencies. So you don't get the error message when starting VAM as far as I know.

This would however be the case if the missing dependecies where already loaded in a scene for example.
But since they are within the (unloaded) appearance presets the error only comes up when actively trying to load it one way or another.

However, many people don't pay much attention to this issue because they see hundreds of such error messages every time they open VAM, and they have become accustomed to it. The key point is that if you now try to open VAM and then go to the Hub feature in the game client, you will find that according to its default filtering and sorting, your resource is not displayed in the list because it is currently not Hub hosted. But something as good as this should be featured prominently, so that more people can see it and download it, shouldn't it?

Yeah I totally agree with you there, so I'm updating the resource as we speak. Again, thanks for the great help!
I learn more and more every day and I'm happy we have such a great community helping each other out :D

Holy hell man, I tried my hand at a Gwen look awhile back, but it was nowhere near this! Insane job, thank you so much for releasing this as a free look

You did such an amazing job on her. I wanted to give a little texture feedback. The stylized versions end up color banding in VaM due to the areas within the textures that are flat single color. It's a super common issue with more cartoony style looks. I'm including some screenshot of what I'm talking about, along with what it looks like after adding 0.6% Noise (gaussian) in photoshop, which is the most common fix for this problem.

And then here is my edited versions with 0.6% noise below.

Blown away, And I'll be subbing to your patreon to grab her lewd clothes and show my appreciation for the free look. I know how much time these can take!

Thanks a lot for the comprehensive feedback! I noticed the banding at some point but actually somehow didnt think it was a texture problem. I thought it was a lighting problem or something. But this is great to learn! I’ll definitely update the model today and thanks again for the help, appreciate it. And thanks for subbing 🤙

JackyCracky updated Gwen Stacy with a new update entry:

Improved textures + presets

Thanks to user Lifson who alerted me to a texture error which caused some color banding of the skin.
So I improved the textures. I also fixed some small dependency mistakes (the brow piercing was included in both the base clothes + the look package) and I fixed some appearance presets mistakes as well.

Here is a screenshot for the improved textures.
Left is the old one, right is the new one.

Gotta say, it's good to see a content creator handle critique of their content with such chill. Thank you for continuing to improve your assets, and for generally being open to critique, I hope to see you and your work continue to shine in the future!

I'm a little obsessed with how good the muscle tone bump map texture looks in this. Did you make that yourself? Also would it be okay if I use it for my TryOnMaster scene? I'm planning to make a muscle-tone adjustment slider as one of the options. I will give credit to you when I make the update.

Sure you can use them. Credit would be awesome. The normals are a combination of built-in daz morphs and hand sculpted details in Zbrush. Then I combine them in substance painter with other skin detail normals to get the right look for the character I’m making. So yeah some work goes into them but I can re-use certain parts so that’s nice.

Great work.
Consider doing a redux cross over hybrid LOOK using the aromasensei version which imo is the best out there...:-D
Your version is already so similar I feel you could make this happen. Maybe Aroma would want to commission you or endorse it too...
Good work either way!!!
