Hi

This looks very interesting, but why use version 1.22.0.3 as a requirement when the latest is 1.22.0.13 and what most people will be using?

I removed that line. And I'm waiting for the feedback 👀

While I see this plugin as something I would like to try, unfortunately I only have a Pico and am on linux. However, I did try running it anyway 😄
With my wine loader I started the installation pointing to a vanilla VAM on 1.22.0.13. The installer stopped because I was not on the expected version. I then downgraded to 1.22.0.3 and the installer ran all the way successfully.
Of course, the long shot was hoping it could ignore the Meta OpenXR requirement, but in the end I could never start VAM as it complained about OpenXR stuff missing, so I ended my test with a sigh :(

I hope Quest users enjoy this plugin, looks very interesting.

Damn, that's sad... There are a lot of cool things coming to the True Through, maybe I find someone near to create a Pico version later!

You've come up with a really cool idea, but it's too bad I only have a Pico. Great job!
Pico users seem to be the main wanting great passthrough immersion experiences and are vocal about that ;)
Or we are more vocal because we can't use it and the others with Quests are too busy playing to reply 😭

Please fix the version requirement as soon as possible, as we won't allow plugins that rely on older (unsafe) versions.

It won't install on my VAM(1.22.0.13). I'm not sure why.
Perhaps your plugin is not compatible with CPU Performance Patch.
I tested instalation with a clean 1.22.0.13 yesterday, without CPU performance patch. Can you try installing it the same way? I will prepare cpu perfoemance patch fix after figuring out what causes the problem. Thanks for letting me know!
UPD: Done.

It’s likely the issue with Assembly-CSharp.dll in CPU performance patch.

version03,Hoping for compatibility with VD

Hi! VD - you mean virtual desktop? Can you share more details, how is your VaM version special? Thanks
Yes, using the official Meta Link software in my region has been a nightmare, while Virtual Desktop is very stable and comfortable to use. I would really love to see a VD-compatible version of your true passthrough plugin. I’d happily pay for it, too. Please consider adding support—it would mean a lot!

I see. Stay tuned. I will research that question after finishing with current features 🙏

Nice work Meharock! I was totally unaware that the meta link software exposes the data needed to openxr to do this.

Virtual Desktop is closed source and only allows for chroma key it does not send alpha channel to the headset.

ALVR has an open PR for alpha channel passthrough but I think that is going to be as far as anyone is going to get on that.
You could potentially build off that since the apk that is installed on the headset can be modified like it was to carry the alpha channel in that PR.
It has widespread support for other VR headsets but unfortunately I think it is built on (openvr/steamvr) instead of openxr which I assume you are using for this.

I would love to see Spatial Anchors & Scene Mesh implemented so that vam could configure a scene for collisions to match the users surroundings and could automate the setup of shadow catchers.
Any chance since you are releasing the resource for free that you might post the source on github?

There will be a more advanced version later with some "pro" thing, so I'm not planning sharing a source code :c Currently, I have already made some great things for free version and want to see how community like it. Some other things I'm working on are exactly Spatial Anchors & Scene Mesh, dlss, automatic light calibration and other, but as thats very complex, it needs time. As for the VD - yup, we need openxr for this monster to work :(
Anyway, I will try implementing any cool idea you suggest!

Throwing a ton of red flags on virus scanning tools. Windows ML stuff throws a fit if it sees a new exe it has not seen before which is understandable. Maybe there is a better way to package the installer?
This report did not finish but it shows a bunch of the common threat methods and might give some info on how to solve them:

nah i have a quest 3. majority use quest 3 i believe

I know there are a lot more Quest HMD users than Pico's. The joke was that at the beginning only Pico users were replying, even though the resource is stated to work only with a Quest HMD, as if Pico users were the group most interested in the plugin's features 😼
