Is there a straightforward way to bring a distant object to my location? There are times when I add an atom, but I cannot see where it spawned (e.g. completely dark environment such as many sex dance scenes). I select the atom and then try to move it around until I can see it. I would like to just select that atom and click on a button to bring it in front of me. Ideally, collisions do not happen in the process (i.e. something like a teleport would be ideal).

I am aware of ky1001.AddAtom.7.var. I think it does something like this, but it requires adding this plugin and then going into its UI to do anything. I am just wondering if there is a built-in capability of VAM that I am completely oblivious of.

When you want to add an atom there's 2 checkboxes you can tick: select atom and focus on atom. If that's not enough, they tend to spawn close to the origin (0,0,0).

Thanks. This works for new atoms. What about the use case of an existing atom in a scene. For example, repositioning light atoms?

My main issue is that when in VR, I completely lose sense of the cardinal directions. So using the move function is profoundly inefficient for me because half the time, I do not know if I should be incrementing or decrementing in the X or Z direction.

I just wish there is a single click "Come Here" button on the UI for a selected atom.

Are you sure you want a "come here" command? This would make the atom change location, which in case of light atoms is often NOT what you want. Check the plugins list for something that would do that.

If you do want to change the location of an atom to a new place without finding its location in the scene, select it from the atoms list (or use a plugin that shows this info in a more useful manner), go to the Move tab and the bottom button allows you to reposition the new atom in the same location of another atom in your sight. From there, just move it where you want it.

Thanks. I honestly never noticed the "Align To..." button. It solves my problem for the most part if there is an atom nearby that I can use as an anchor. I really don't want to add a plugin to everything I am trying to move.

As to whether or not I am sure ... Yes, I am sure. One example case is where I import a lighting rig, but one spotlight is too close to the subject. I teleport out to where I think a specific spotlight might be better placed, except the light is now far from me. So I have to select that light (and unparent it) and "Move" it - and because it may not be in my field of view, I have to pan around to find it, and then click + and - to figure out which way it will actually move (because oftentimes, I cannot tell if the scene is oriented in the default direction). This is very tedious. Once it is in place, then it's a simple matter of grabbing it and rotating it and adjusting the light cone and the throw.

Thanks again
