WearableCUA - Parents CUAs to person bones

Yet another plugin for attaching CUAs to people.

Similar in spirit to @zgock 's CUAAutoFollow, but a lot less ambitious and a little simpler. That one allows following morphs and controllable offsets.

I know it overlaps with several other plugins as well, but it's part of a larger effort to allow packaging CUAs into clothing and I needed something specific.

Well, I tried both CUA Auto-Follow and this, and this one actually works. For whatever reason CUA Auto-follow doesn't work for me(the target list doesn't populate)

In action this plugin tracks her arm movements thrusting and parrying flawlessly even at high speeds. Really cool for medieval swords or sabers. Just be sure to set the atom to position on not position parent link like I originally tried.

Is there a way to adjust the speed at which is adjusts the CUA? I tried to use a BVH of a sword swinging motion and at full speed it just looks like he's swinging the blade without it following his wrist motion, but if I walk it frame by frame, or just play a few frames, it looks fine.

It should be as attached as anything can be in unity... Do you have a vid?

Details: This is a mixamo animation converted through blender to BVH using this tutorial. The hands don't match up perfectly, but I put the hilt in his hand using morphs (I didn't realize when I made the video that VAM decided to open his hands so the blade is floating slightly in front of his palm). Sword comes from goblin weapons here.

It's a little hard to tell what's going on there, but it might be also just be vam's physics. Have you tried tightening up the controller link for the arm?

I was using this with great success, with the stimpak CUA, however, when I added CUA animation controller (by VAMTastic) the CUA disappeared from screen. If I load an old save, the CUA is gone, but if I shutdown VAM, restart, load old save, then the CUA returns. It disappears when I add the CUA animation controller. Any idea why the two plugins seem incompatible?

Could you try this , see if any different . i added part of a script by mr.ripley to dilldoes script ,CUA animator plugin.
the change is ,it allows to control more animations instead of just 1
place the script in Custom/scripts folder .

WOW! Thank you for the response! I had all but given up... I've been trying to make a scene for months now and this has been a stumbling block. I'm new at creating scenes, but learning all the time! I am starting to get the hang of Timeline animation, and this is the only "parent a CUA" plugin I've found that lets you move the CUA through Timeline (as an offset) while preserving the ability to have collisions. I hope to try the test you provided me tonight (or at least in the next day or so). If it doesn't work, I will try to make a very simple scene to reproduce the problem and provide a better description.

Thank you again! Can I buy you some coffee or something?

Totally strange! Now everything is working... I can combine the CUA animator with the wearable CUA without things disappearing! I tried to set up a simple scene with the two plugins, and it worked, I went to the latest version of the scene I'm working on and it worked. Very strange, but I'm so glad I tried it! I'm going back to old saves to see if I can reproduce the problem but there are literally over 100 (I save often since VAM doesn't seem to have an undo function). My guess is that "something" updated since the original error, and I have been working around a problem that no longer exists.

Anyways, thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me and for helping me work this out! I can now move forward with my original project, and if the problem with combining the two plugins reoccurs I have a different version of the animation plugin to try.

Thank you again, and happy VAM'ing!

Thank you mate , that's interesting to know and strange, like some gremlin got in the works of your scene.
i hope it behaves.
