About This Tool​

This is simple tool that made, to be your VaM playing companion!
Designed to speed up the game by reducing the number of active VAR files in your directory.
It lets you choose which scenes you want, then the tool will keep all related var asset and move all unrelated .var files out of VaM, so VaM doesn’t need to read them.

What happens if you want to edit the scene and switch a character? Will VaM still find them if they are moved?

What happens if you want to edit the scene and switch a character? Will VaM still find them if they are moved?

VaM game will not find them if the var files is moved. This tool moves unrelated .var files before the game is launched, so VaM will only load the selected content during that play session.

the tool is designed to be for like playing session. if you want to reselect scene or character, you had to close the game, update your selection in tool, then launch the game again.

im aware thats extra hassle, but new version are coming. stay tuned!

I wanted to ask as I'm not fluent in VaM - is it possible that your app launches Virtamate VR version?
For now for Virutal Desktop + Quest 3 users it's best to select Virtual Desktop app in system tray and launch game from there, to avoid steam vr runtime for better performance. But anyway would be great for now.

Dont worry, I already added Virtual Desktop VR launching support, and it wil be included in the next version (v1.1.0), along with more improvement for our convenience as fellow VD vam player. I will be releasing it soon, so stay tuned!

Hi, first of all, I am looking forward to this amazing tool, it's gonna be the most useful that I would ever have, I am grateful to have this, but I think I am having similar issue as Neitrino5's, that it just keeps loading and can't read my scenes, I have 13390 vars, I have left my PC to load it for more than 10 hours but nothing happens.

oof. Thanks for the info and your patience

I suspect there’s some "bad/corrupted var" in your libraries that makes the scan stuck. Im testing this now with large datasets and working on improvements so the app wont get stuck even if a VAR is broken.
I’ll push a new update soon so everyone can really try this tool. Stay tuned!
