So, after using this for a while, I suddenly am getting FPS between 40-80 in even the most basic of scenes that I never had issues with before. I've already tried factory resetting my computer, installing all the latest drivers, but still no luck. Even turning off hair and soft-body physics doesn't do anything. Is there some setting or driver I need to look at or does my rig just need an update? How can I find out what component needs an upgrade?
GPU: GTX 3080
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
RAM: 16 GB

There could be a million reasons, especially as you add more and more stuff to your VAM folder over time.
See the guides section for more information about FPS, maintenance and tips, etc.

I recently experience the same thing and it must be related to var directory size, since I have not changed anything else. I will try to clean up there a bit and see what that does.

Stuff like this is why i set up my VaM file completely and then dont update anything. No new VaM mods, not even Windows, GEForce Experience, nothing. I have ~4500 vars, thats enough. I figure anything being made like 5+ years into this game isnt worth risking ruining my perfectly set up VaM file.
All I can suggest is backtracking your recent additions lately as it is likely to be something recent.

I just checked, it really makes a huge difference how many vars you have. I installed a fresh VAM in parallel and with 22 GB it runs butter smooth compared to the old one with 286 GB.
