Question Simple Clothing question

When I have a model loaded with clothes and swap the shoes for black heels.
Then decide to change the model but leave the clothing.
After locking the clothes and swaping the model, the color of the heels reverts to the default red and not black.
There must be a tick I'm missing or something simple?
What am I doing wrong?
Any help is much appreciated.

Didn't even notice the Locking system in there. Interesting...
I tried a different clothing than yours, changed the colour, then loaded a new appearance, and the clothing remained as I had left it. Maybe some clothing items are not affected by the lock?
