VaM 1.x Reinstallation or just a clean up in folder?

I hoarded a bunch of vars and I probably use like 10%.

So I want to reduce the VAM folder a bit to make it a bit more user friendly/faster. VAM is working without issues for me.

Is it enough if I simply clean up/sort out the folder or does a reinstall in a new folder make more sense?

Probably a new VAM folder is the better choice. Move in the VARs you want from the old one to the new and any locally made files like presets, etc.
There's also some plugins that can offload your VARs and load only what you need at the moment.
Regardless of what you decide to do, do make sure that you do backups of your VAM as shit can happen and online stuff does not stay online forever.
