Proof of concept-ish
Ever wanted to walk like you would in skyrim vr ? Now ya can. This is an older version, packaged quickly as i`m working on other stuff.
I recommend you set Free Navigation speed to 2 (user preferences - navigation) and lock navigation height (navigation tab) for best experience.

I could make way better version of this, but I`m lacking plugins or ways to access the above mentioned settings and most importantly I don`t know of any way/plugin that I can use to instead use...

Hi can you give a little more info on this? Is the idea that you possess a model and the model starts walking around? Or do you control the walking and if so how?

Yeah you control the walking
It`s intended for VR, click on the red button to possess ( it uses the embody plugin and therefore it is a hard dependency, it won`t work if you don`t have it).
Make sure that your embody plugin isn`t set for some reason on passenger.
Just move yourself like you would the camera, either yourself physically or with the controllers.
