PoseFactory

Plugins + Scripts PoseFactory

Hello
I seem to have overlooked your message, so I apologize for the late reply.

Would you like to save the ON/OFF of "FreezePhysicsWhileGrabbing" to the RIG button?

You can leave LipSync unrelated, right? It was my mistake that it was automatically turned OFF.
No worries bro, and yes Rig will do perfectly fine by me, and yea it would be great if lip sync didn't go off automatically so it doesn't really need to be saved by rig or pose preset anyways.

Would it be possible to make a tutorial video showing how to do a very simple animation, say a model waving their hand as a "hello" towards the viewer? I tried doing this and could not get it to work. Here are the steps I took:

1. Loaded a look.
2. Added the Screen Tools and Pose Factory plugins to a Session.
3. Clicked Pose on Screen Tools and selected Reset pose.
4. Moved the models right arm and hand up for the first part of the wave motion. Clicked Save # 1 at the top upper left of the tool bar and the little clapboard icon lit up in red.
5. Moved the models right hand to another position, the end of the wave, and clicked Save # 2 and that clapboard icon turned red.

Now no matter what I click I cannot play the wave animation. If I click the play icon in the top toolbar nothing happens. Also, if I go back and click on Save #1 the first wave animation pose I set is not there. Both Save # 1 and #2 are the same. If clicking a Save button does not save a pose, what does it save?

I'm sure I must be missing a very basic step and if anyone can help solve this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

OH! I HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM! Key poses won't animate despite saving. It was driving me nuts for MONTHS and on a whim, I just cleared my Session Plugins startup defaults plugs and only left PoseFactory and Screen Tools and when I tried animation, it just worked as intended. It was a Session Plugin conflict. I think Stopper's Additional Toe and Finger Controllers? I don't know if it's gonna be the same plugin so do some trial and error. However, if you get it working and want to add your old plugins? Do it one-by-one because it will look like they're working at the moment but once you start VAM again, PoseFactory might conflict with it and break. And yes, it's as simple as that, saving poses, and hitting play.

@slimy I put together a video to showcase a feature that was present in older version and a small problem that still exists in both old and new versions. Is it possible to fix the one and bring the old feature back?
Hello gghhoosstt123. :)
I'm ready to fix it right away. So I want to check again.
Would it be useful to be able to remember the ON/OFF of FreezePhysicsWhileGrabbing with both the RIG button and the Pose button? Or only the Rig button? Only the Pose button?
I almost always only have it ON.
I don't know many cases where it should be OFF.
Also, if you do ResetPose, it will be forced to ON.
Anyway, I'll try to do what you want.

If both pose and rig can remember the state then it would be the most best option i also always have it ON too, as for reset pose i don't use those both in game ones and this ones cuz i have already made a pose preset that i like the most when ever i want to reset a pose so i load that preset since it will also have the controls that i chose too. i mostly use these rig and pose preset whenever i want to reset the entire pose but with my own set controls states and rigs settings so once i fininsh my 1 animation in timeline then to create the 2nd animation i reset the pose of both atoms to create another animation fresh. using reset pose will not get me the controllers i want like thighs on and hip off and pelvis on etc including the my custom rig settings.

Sorry :) That's the thing I just can't understand.
Since it never turns off automatically, isn't it desirable for it to always be ON?
In other words, even if ON isn't saved in RIG or POSE, I think it's always ON.Anyway, I'll try to do what you want.:giggle:

hello @marco101:)
Thank you for noticing the problem.
I'd like to know more about it, but is stopper's "Tongue and Finger Controllers" okay?
I tried it out and didn't find any particular problems.
However, I can't control the added controls. I was able to animate other normal controls.

Yeah it should be always ON even without it not being saved in rig and pose, i wouldn't had noticed it OFF until i had not used the latest versions which turns it OFF on rig and pose including lipsync, this plugin is literaly my daily driver since i began to use it lol

I think that's the same one in my case. As I commented earlier, if you add the plugin when Pose Factory is already working, somehow, it wouldn't do anything. It's when you save it as a 'Default Session Plugin' and start up VAM with it enabled that triggers this conflict. Even with Pose Factory saved alongside it as 'Session Default' or if you add it later as a Scene or Session plugin, Pose Factory wouldn't save the key poses. You can save the Poses and Rigs fine but Key Animation poses don't work for some reason.

Now, I don't know if the additional plugins I have like Browser Assist, UI Assist, Posing Helper, Posing Manager, CUA Manager, and UI Scale adds another conflict with Stopper's Additional Controllers but currently, Pose Factory now works flawlessly without it.

Hello. :) Sorry if I didn't explain it well enough.
"ScreenTools" is a session plugin, but
"PoseFactory" cannot be used as a session plugin or scene plugin.
It is a plugin that assigns to Atom called SimpleSign.
It's troublesome, so ScreenTools does it automatically.
All we have to do is drop Slimy.PoseFactory.9.var into the AddonPackages folder and press the Pose button in ScreenTools.:)

Thank you very much for making this video! After attempting to follow it I am still having a few issues. Let me describe my steps:
1. Started VaM, loaded a Look.
2. Added Screen Tools as a Session Plugin (Pose Factory is in my Add-On folder)
3. Clicked on "Pose" in the Screen Tools bar. Pose Factory UI pops up.
4. The first thing that is different than your video is when you hover over the girl there is a red circle that turns to yellow when you click on her body part. I do not have that. When I move my mouse over my look and click on a body part, nothing happens. For me to move a body part I need to click on "U" to bring up the VaM menu, then I can click on a body part and control it. So I did that by moving the models right hand up in the start of a wave position. Following your video I clicked the "Sym" button to duplicate the left hand.
5. Following your video at the :29 mark I clicked on the Preset Rig 9 button and moved the right arm in a new position then clicked the Sym button to duplicate the left hand. (Side question: why Preset 9? Is there another video or explanation somewhere that goes into more detail on the presets?)
6. Following your video at :41 I tilted the models head to the right then clicked the Swap All button, then I clicked the first Save button below.
7. Next I clicked the Swap All button again and then clicked the second Save button below.
8. This is where my first problem came up. At 1:00 in your video you click on the first Save button and the model moves her head/body and when you click the second Save button she moves again. For me when I click on the Save buttons nothing happens, the model stays still.
9. I decided to press forward and continued with your video. I moved my models arm in a new position and clicked the second Save button again. I then clicked on the first Save button and the model moved back to the starting position, then when clicking the second Save button it moved to the new position. Eureka! I made my first animation. I'll keep experimenting to make sure I finally have this figured out.

If you have any ideas about the few discrepancies I have from what you did in the video please let me know. Thanks again!

The red and yellow circles are presentation tools to make the mouse pointer position easier to see.
They have nothing to do with VaM. They are yellow when you click.
Also, the animation cell at the bottom consists of a SAVE button and a Load button below it.
They are small, so they may be hard to tell apart.
Anything else is going well?
Please enjoy. :)
