Been using VaM in VR (Meta Quest 3) on my machine for about a month now but have not really been getting spectacular performance. My current PC specs are:

Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF (3.3GHz) Processor
MSI Pro Z890-P WiFi Motherboard
64GB DDR5-6000 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Graphics Card
2TB NVMe SSD

Would y’all consider my machine under specced? When I review the performance it seems like my GPU is bottlenecking.

Run the standard benchmark, then compare your results with those in the discussion thread for the benchmark. You can post your results to that thread, or maybe just look at other's results and figure out if your rig is a potato by comparison. I did that, then embarked on a rebuild.

Every PC is under specced if you have more than 2 characters and settings at max :p

My old rig would crash out of the game on 3 ppl. My current one can run a scene with 4:

I extensively tested/brute forced characters with the new rig I (sadly) have because my PC died... anything above 3 is not possible if you're at maximum settings. Especially if:
  • If you have detailed and complex animations for each
  • If you have several soft bodies interacting with each other
  • If you have some hungry hairs/clothes
If you take Mary's scene, the last section is extremely heavy on the PC... because characters are levitating... even without a massive animation.

So for anything not standard ( well running 90+ fps scene ) that goes above 3 chars, yes, pretty much any PC is under specced. It's just the way VAM works... it's not the fault of your rig :p
