No edit or delete function in private conversations?

I've just noticed that if I want to edit a message in a private conversation there doesn't seem to be an option to do it?
 
Let me take a look. This may be somewhat intentional by the software.
 
OK fixed. There was a 5 minute time limit on editing. I have changed it to infinite.
