How do I animate a character's mouth? Is there a tutorial or plugin for this? For example, animate the opening and closing of the mouth, as well as facial expressions, so that after a second, the facial expression changes animatedly?

I think the standard way would be using the timeline plugin and just animate with keyframes of different morph values. There are lots of morph resources with all kind of expressions for this goal, primarily the wonderful master collection of AshAuryn:

Usual workflow:
- search through the morphs tab which expressions you want to animate and click the checkbox to fav them
- use the timeline plugin and when adding targets, you now will see all fav morphs below the input called "geometry" (under "add storable float params").
- you now can create keyframes for that morph with a specific value and timeline will blend/animate between them

You can also use audio and play it through the HeadAudioSource of an atom to get automatic lip sync. It even works a little bit for moans etc., but you will have much better control with morphs.

Maybe I'm a little stupid, but I don't understand how to animate expressions. I added the facial expressions I need using "Fav" and then in "timeline" - but no matter how much I move the facial expression sliders, they don't set "keyframe"

Click on the "Targets" button inside the timeline plugin, click the morph control in the keyframe view and then you will see the morph slider on the right side within timeline. Whenever you move the slider there, a new keyframe will be created automatically. You can also just click the checkbox to create a frame at the current location if you want to have the current value of the morph there.
