Leap motion with quest 2?

I was searching a bit about leap motion, and is it correct that it would need an extra piece of hardware?
I tried activating handtracking in the quest and used possesion mode. It does move the hands, but the fingers are stationary. Are there a setting I need to change?

No settings, buy hardware So you were correct with this assumption...
Without additional hardware like this, only the position/rotation of your hands is tracked in Vam, no finger movement.

That's too bad. Well, just using the controllers works plenty good. Could just have been fun playing around with it.
