I'm trying to pose and animate a character in timeline and the head joint keep reverting back to "comply" after I change it to "on". Is there a way to key the joint attribute so it will not revert back to comply?

Have you saved the pose on the poses tab on timeline? If so, it's probably saved with that target set to comply. Stop the animation and go to 0 time, set the target as you want it and "overwrite pose"
