Dear members of the VaM community,

I wish to take a moment to say thank you, and farewell. Due to an increasingly busy work life and schedule, I will be stepping away from the Virt-A-Mate project and from my official role serving as your community / social media manager.

As a bit of background to newer members, I joined the VAM community at its inception in the late summer of 2017, right after Meshed had posted a tech demo video of an interactive game he was working on the r/adultvrgames sub. Within weeks of posting that video, he had a Patreon running and his very first group of backers on board. The community was very young at the time, with merely a few hundred members or less on reddit and discord. Being a part of this was awesome as VAM was and still is, the first and only online community I ever belonged to. I offered to be a moderator on reddit early on, and greatly enjoyed learning how to be a member of an online community, welcome new members, help folks new to VAM and learn to manage the sub. I worked on reddit extensively early on, with early FAQs, the first banners, and helping develop the framework of rules along with Meshed, Wade, DJ and others that still exist today. Memorable scenes I created around that time are a dancing scene and Blue Man group scene I'm still hearing about!

Beginning in 2018, I transitioned from being a content creator to a self made social media manager, saving albums, creating an online presence, building twitter, etc. It didn't take long for Meshed to notice, and around 2019 we started working more collaboratively as I began to serve the community in a more official capacity.

Over the past three years, it has been such a pleasure and honor to serve such a wonderful, talented, caring and giving community. Speaking as an artist, I am in awe of your talents, and was always driven to save images and videos because I could not stand the thought of these beautiful works of art fading away on a discord chat forever - I desired to encapsulate them for future members, for VAMs evolution history, for the sake of preserving creations that were beautiful, provocative and expressive.

As I leave the project, this is what I leave behind.

- Social media and online presences on:
- Twitter: https://twitter.com/V_A_M_Official
- Slushe: https://slushe.com/VirtAMate
- Erome: https://www.erome.com/VirtAMate
- Deviant Art: https://www.deviantart.com/virt-a-mate
- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/virt.a.mate/
- Four VaM-A-Zines: https://fliphtml5.com/bookcase/fesxt
- 23,000 images saved from 2018 - 2021 across 50+ albums seen best on the Slushe site - with three consecutive years worth of monthly albums.
- 3000 videos saved, most of which can be seen here: https://www.erome.com/VirtAMate
- 11 Banner Contests containing some 1500 images (winning banners can be seen on our Discord archives)
- 2900 images on Deviant Art to showcase the very best of Virt-A-Mate
- 17 wallpaper packs hosted on the hub
- A new Twitter account with 5000+ followers... would have been 25,000 as you guys know, so play it very sfw with your banners if you are on Twitter.
- You can access the majority of these links on the Archive section of our VAM Discord and the reddit subs' sidebar.

Besides missing the wonderful social aspects of interacting with all of you, I think one of the hardest parts of needing to walk away at this time is wondering what beautiful creations I won't be there to save, archive, place in albums, and show off to the world through the social media channels. Those two aspects I think about the most.

There was this wonderful idea by VaWeeb of having a model contest, where at the end of the contest not only do we get our cool new banner, but also new models to play with - I wish I had been able to get to it. I also didn't get to make a 5th VaM-A-Zine, where I intended on showcasing one of DragonInk's beautiful images as the cover.

Don't be bashful and feel free to drop me a line on Discord when you wish, I would love to stay abreast (hehe) of your beautiful creations. Though my time is becoming increasingly limited, my hope is to not disappear entirely. I even made a Twitter for myself. https://twitter.com/JustRossParker.

VAM has come such a long way since 2017. Here's just one example: https://www.canva.com/design/DAE0IpjK75s/AcEG4Wxx45nJLlw_ORD5xg/view. Credits to Damarmau :) Personally I am thrilled to see VaM 2.X evolve and our community continue to grow. Meshed's visionary leadership throughout all these years is world class and second to none.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to showcase your beautiful creations to the world. I learned so much from you guys, I always believed it is good to be surrounded by people smarter than oneself, and this could not have been further from the truth. Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with the world, and thank you for sharing your amazing spirits with me!

Yours,

Ross Parker ( RossNutkinChan#1444 - Discord | u/NutkinChan - Reddit)
