Install gone?

I just did a fresh install of the latest release 1.20.1.5. After a looong download, it opened. To try, I opened scene selector and it looked like everything was greyed out? I clicked Exit and the entire game is gone ? When I open the up[dater, it says there is no core installed. Don't tell me I have to download everything all over ? (Win 10)

Nvm, I think I found the issue...never run the updater from within the zipped file...
