Question How to save a change to a package

I want to modify a Scene (Inside addonpackages) and then save to the same package. I do not not want to save a a new scene.

There is an option which says "Save Scene and Add to current package" but this does not seem to work . When I open the package I do not see changes.

No. Vars are "locked" assets. You can't update them unless you'd repack them completely, which is not recommended at all.
Save your edits in a local folder, at least you have no doubt it's your own version : )
