Question head hair clipping on armpit

how to fix head hair so it doesn't get clipping in the armpits

Use invisible spheres to compensate for that IF you're in a virtual photography situation.

If it's for realtime (a real scene to play), you're pretty much stuck with that issue : )

You can try to adjust the "Collision Radius" of the hair. You find it in the hairs "Customize" menu under the "Physics" tab. Some of the other options in that tab could help as well. Just try them out. You could also try to adjust the settings in the "Look" tab to get better results with a slightly different look.
