Think we might be able to get a Gunstar some day?

Some of you (looking adoringly at you, @Farger!) have contributed numerous amazing sci-fi models. I can see from a cursory search that there are numerous models of the Gunstar from The Last Starfighter but I've no idea the complexity involved in converting to a .var. The actual cockpit experience seems like a far stretch, but even being able to walk up and look at her landed on the ground would be epic.

Especially with Maggie. 😁

I have looked around for this model for quite some time. Unfortunately, all of the 3d models that I have seen so far have licenses with editorial/personal use only caveats, so those models are not something that could be posted to the Hub.

Aww damn. :( But it rocks that it was already on your radar, or perhaps more accurately.. Death Blossom.

Greetings Starfighter. You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-dan Armada...

I was thinking how I might implement the Death Blossom effect. I love the ending of the movie when the ship takes off and Louis is standing in front of the video game machine.

Corridor Digital on Youtube just did a really cool breakdown of some of the VFX work for the last starfighter, modeling the ships in 3d from draft drawings. Things have changed alot in 40 years.
