hmm, i'd say just move the hips closer, also if you've got a bunch of nodes "on" other than the hip, it can really tamp down on any force generated
as far as the responder, its a seperate setup, i usually crank up the force to like 400 and turn down the damping to like 1, its only meant for hip collision though

Thanks for the reply. Btw would be great to have some randomize values option for speed slider
