Is OK to copy vam folder to a new laptop and just run it? it will work fine or is better to install again and only copy AddonPackages folder?

VaM is not based on a installation, t's self-contained in the folder, you can just move/copy it elsewhere. Making a backup, something you should do too, is just as easy to do.

As far as I remember it is important to "install/move" to the same drive letter, unless we are talking about a clean installation!.

The drive/partition makes no difference, you can even have VaM and the cache folder on different partitions without any impact. Of course, it's of vital importance that the VaM folder is not in a permissions-restricted place like /Users, Program Files, etc.

You're right, either I'm remembering wrong or it's fixed with an update.
