Regarding the problem of ystop04: I had the same. I found out, it may be caused by macgruber's postmagic3 plugin. So edit mode/select - check "show hidden"/chose "Lighting_Rig" on the left/go to tab "plugins" / uncheck "MacGruber.Postmagic.manager" -> solved it for me.
 
Pressing the wake up button doesn't start the animation. Not sure what I'm missing, since I got all files and dependencies installed. My current VaM version is 1.20.77.9
