VaM 1.x Controllers disappear when some scenes load - Quest 3s

Since I moved to Quest 3s, when certain scenes load, my controllers disappear and I can't do anything in VR. I can toggle monitors and function in desktop, but I have to (apparently) restart VAM to get back functionality in VR.
I have the most updated version of VAM 1.2xxx

Any ideas on what causes this? It never happened with my previous Quest headset.
