Hey, I need some feedback, gang.
So I'm designing / building a CUSTOM launcher for VAM that offers the following:
* Faster load times, higher frame rates (less content installed means better performance)
* Ability to switch easily between different "Collections" of content
* Powerful search abilities to find and load just the content you need
* Randomization of content each time you start up (optional)
* Automatic assignment and load of default scene (optional)
* Multiple profiles (OpenVR, Oculus/Meta, VR Desktop, Desktop, etc) - No more batch files!
* Easily switch User Settings (e.g. a different setup for desktop vs. VR)
* >>Potentially<<, automatic download and install of Patreon / Discord content you're subscribed to (TBC)
* Stays in your system tray for quick access to VAM anytime (optional)
* Multiple utilities for managing and maintaining your VAM library
* Cache limiter (to prevent your cache size blowing out)
* Links to tutorials and helpful info for beginners and experts alike
* ... and a lot more to come
It is NOT a plugin, it is a stand-alone application.
Wondering whether this is something the community would be interested in seeing?
I'm thinking of offering a limited free, open-source version and having a Patreon sub for the full feature set.
Curious to know people's thoughts on whether this is something you would consider? I know I am always a little wary of stand-alone apps personally, but in this case, I think it's something that could become essential for every VaM user.
Let me know!
