Add to Preset animation

Hi all. I have created a animation using the preset animations and saving as a new preset i:e Idle, idle to sit up, situp to idle, idle to push up, push to idle etc, etc I have saved this as a new preset and can use it any any scene I choose as is, my question is this, can I add to this preset to extend the animation, so the new steps are just added to the exsisting animation. Hope this makes sense, TIA
When I say add to preset, I mean using my own animations, not more built in presets
