Add cloth item to scene/atom

Hey there. I'd like to, via script, add a clothing item to an atom person. What is the api for this? I need to be able to add multiple of same item. Any help or pointers appreciated.

So far I found how to get currently active clothing items but I am going around in circles trying to figure out how to add more via script.
