Why the Wildlife models looks a lot more sexy than the VAM models?

-Sounds lame, but maybe think about what exactly makes other figures more sexy 'for you' than VaM figures: Is it the shape, or the texture, or the rendering... ? -Change the lighting/light sources in scenes, this will add some more reality and sometimes works miracles. -Use good pose packs to...

Why the Wildlife models looks a lot more sexy than the VAM models?

Like SPQR said, it is always a matter of taste. -The VaM/DAZ3d figures have not THAT much polygons, there is a lot of smoothing going on. But, yes, if you compare them to some low poly game figures, they have a lot more details. -A big difference is the rendering process. VaM uses real-time...

Atom preset does not save the objet location

Maybe you can realize your idea with subscenes. Here is a guide on how to use subscenes. https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/how-to-use-subscenes.5949/

Whatever happened to the old half-life Alyx model?

    You are welcome

Whatever happened to the old half-life Alyx model?

Do you mean the VaM look or the Alyx custom unity asset. The latter one can be found in the NoOC VaM Discord, the first can be found here https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/half-life-content-pack.9907/ If there are even more „Alyxs“ around, we need to know which of them exactly you are...

Windows: Quick way to inventory your var downloads (looks & scenes)

Thank you, this might become useful for some people!

    "Dependencies not found on hub"

I want to point out, that this is not the fault of the downloaders, especially if they are somewhat new to VaM. Nobody can be expected to keep all of that in mind while just clicking the download button. On the other hand, it's great to have all of that free stuff. Maybe there are some experts...

    "Dependencies not found on hub"

Wow, that is a huge list of missing dependencies for only a bunch of scenes. Some of that things definitely can be found here like Timeline. I don't exactly know why this doesn't work, maybe it is a matter of different version numbers, or things like that. Unfortunately, I can't further help...

    "Dependencies not found on hub"

A fact that not every new VaM user might know: You don't neccessarily need EVERY single of the dependencies, most of the time. Though, you will get a nasty error message and the scene will NOT exactly look like it was intended by the creator! BUT if you, for instance, only want to use the...

(Poll) What is your preferred method for sharing/saving/loading looks?

I formerly have used looks, but after a while I switched to appearence presets when they came out. The only thing I really hate about looks being shared as scenes is (aside from ridiculous big file sizes) is, that you can't find them easy between all those "real" scenes. If I want to keep a...

why fps is much lower in VR mode?

Playing a game in VR is somewhat similar to playing a game in 4k UHD resolution on your desktop monitor, plus the need for high fps in VR because of constant head movement and severe stuttering. VaM is known for not being optimized very well and in addition to that: it is easy to set some...

How to search tags better on this site?

Now we finally have reached a point, where we complain about having TOO MUCH stuff for VaM. ;) Joking aside: As you allready guessed, creators will not add the real name of the lookalike. If YOU can easily find it, lawyers and agencies will find it, too. My only lame suggestion (aside from the...

    Benchmark Result Discussion

We all know that VaM 1.x isn't well optimized. Multiple light sources, high physics demanding hair, unoptimized clothes, multiple persons... this all drags down my performance a lot. For little things like those Vars and morphs, lowering my fps for some points, I can see differences at least...

    Benchmark Result Discussion

So I spend my whole free morning with testing, you now have to find your way through the data. No mercy ;-) I have to partially withdraw my results! There IS an effect, which will be obviously visible the more FPS you have! Thesis: Morphs in VAR files may have a higher effect on FPS as locally...

    Benchmark Result Discussion

OK, I've did it. I created 21 Var files with alltogether 645MB pure morph files! I moved them over to my vanilla VaM installation (same m.2 drive), and ran the benchmark. Naturally I did a restart and a new benchmark before and after. Result: NO DIFFERENCE!

    Benchmark Result Discussion

@JayJayWon That may be the case. My PC is build for 4k VR. Whereas in VR the GPU is mostly the bottleneck, there is most likely a CPU bottleneck for me with the the low desktop resolution. You are having by far the most breathtakingly high VaM benchmark 3 results, and I guess, the CPU makes the...

    rality?

Unfortunately this is quite normal. The physics in VaM are not perfect.

    Benchmark Result Discussion

With my results vs the results of JayJayWon, we now need a volunteer, who will test this out: Thesis: Will (many) morphs in .Var files reduce fps, but morphs in the /custom/atom/person/morphs folder don't?

Hi, what do you mean with VGA ppt? I am running a custom water cooling loop, too. No issues with temperature, neighter CPU nor GPU (<70C). I have slightly OC the CPU, and the GPU (orig. AMD) is running on highest possible factory settings, that are doable with only the standard driver. My 5800x...
