Virtual Desktop on Quest 2 - Can't use right controller to move forward and backward in VAM scene?

Mine auto swaps to forward and backward on the right controller when the left one disconnects. Im using a quest2 and Virtual Desktop. Get a big enough play space and you don’t need the right controller either lol.

Cant open Vam in virtual desktop

Double clicking the bat file should run VaM, if you get open with then the file extension is not .bat but something else. enable view file extensions in windows file explorer and double check it’s only got one extension and that it’s .bat startvam.bat or some such name is what you should see...

Can you export from latest version of Blender into 2018 Unity?

Fair enough. Well, good luck. I am not sure there is much more I can say, I fail with blender myself. Getting messed up colours/textures is a common theme for my attempts to export from Blender.

Can you export from latest version of Blender into 2018 Unity?

I have had hit and miss with going from Blender to Unity. Sometimes things export and just work, others they are messed for no visible reason. There are plenty of room models out there for VaM already, so unless you have a reason to want to make your own try looking at the free ones that exist...

Can you export from latest version of Blender into 2018 Unity?

Are you exporting as FBX? That is what I use mostly. Also, I get nasty issues with exported UV maps/textures a lot of the time even if the model mesh comes through. Another issue I had with "model doesn't actually show up" was that it DID. It was just a thousand km away from the current...

VR performance terrible on pretty recent machine

Lol, no, I was just saying we agree! It was reassuring to know that other people are actually aware of this issue :)

Literally what I said in the post before Sally's post.

VR performance terrible on pretty recent machine

Also note that it's important to make sure that you are using the right GPU. A lot of gaming laptops have 2, an integrated GPU that is low power used for normal operation and a more powerful "game" GPU used for, well, gaming. There is always the possibility that for whatever reason it's trying...

VR performance terrible on pretty recent machine

*phew* Well, assuming it's actually reaching those speeds correctly (all bios settings correct) then there is no reason for poor performance. The 2060 is a reasonable GPU and ~5ghz should be plenty for physics stuff. Have you run the benchmark tests yet? Those should help you get a better view...

VR performance terrible on pretty recent machine

I took one look and my jaw dropped looking at your CPU speed. 2.3ghz? That is TERRIBLE. I had an old i5-2500 that was running faster than that. No wonder you are getting low frame rates. VaM is very "core locked" and single core speed is critical to good performance in VaM. You want to be...

New Quest 2 user - assume Im a retard

Yeah, I agree with groinc. I use Wireless all the time now. Never going back to the cable. I had more trouble with the link cable than I ever have with Virtual Desktop. Battery life can be an issue, but honestly the freedom from wireless far outweigh the issue of battery life.

New Quest 2 user - assume Im a retard

When you say "stutter" are you referring to the thing SteamVR does where it jitters back and forth between 2 frames rather than render a new one? If so, Using Virtual Desktop direct and NOT steamVR at all solved this completely for me. I get no stuttering at all. It was actually causing me...

    Mouse cursor in VR

VR is 3D, there is no real way for a mouse to function in VR because it's a 2D input device. There is no support for mouse at all in VR mode. The keyboard still works, the mouse still works however but you need to look at your normal monitor. If you take your headset off you can see the VAM...
