Question How to resolve issues where disabled simulation components in imported garments fail to perfectly align with character surfaces and distortion in vam?

How can I resolve the issue where parts of the garment model in VAM that have simulation disabled fail to conform tightly to the skin surface, creating significant gaps with the character, as well as address the distortion in non-simulated sections? Here's my workflow: I use DAZ's G2F model...

Plugins + Scripts VAM2DAZ Converter for Blender 4.0

Yeah for the classic way I just choose Poser and never had to do anything about the scale. Tried importing with Custom at 10% with the object generated by this script as well, just to see the G2F now shrinks ;) Whats 3.0 in my screenshot? Its the exported skinned female from VAM, with an...

...the speed, any problem is a final blender to fix. About when you convert A pose to T post, if you import the g2f base mesh with "Daz Importer" or "Daz To Blender Bridge" then you would have the rig already, then just do the pairing in blender or daz transfer, not really need to setup your own...

Question Problem with clothing import from DAZ

I have the same problem, but I found the cause. It should be that Blender failed to export correctly or DAZ did not set the materials properly. You just need to uncheck the material option when exporting from Blender. Edit: Okay, that must be my mistake. I forgot to rename the material names to...

Guides How to use Blender to sculpt.

there exists a bridge from DAZ to blender. There you can export and import morphs and expressions from DAZ to blender too. Don´t be confused, when there is a hint, that this bridge is only for G3 or G8. It works with G2 too.

    Looks Holli Would

Sorry if this is a dumb question but if this was a model from blender did you have to port it into DAZ for it to work in VAM, or was it ported from Blender then to VAM without using DAZ? (Nice model by the way).

Guides Vam to Blender to Vam

When importing an exporting to blender use the wavefront (.obj)(legacy) option as im told theres issues with the non legacy option in latest blender. If the mismatch still happens in daz then you have used a tool in blender that changed the models vert count/order. Best to do a testrun first...

VaM 1.x Software to create characters

Assuming that you are very much new to Vam. The models in Vam are for most of the time created in Vam itself, but you can port 3d models from other software into Vam. Most used outside of Vam will be Daz 3D That's the main and must have and then there's Blender, but you can use any other apps...

Agreed. I have always used DAZ because it fits better with my work flow, but I have had people told me Blender transfer produce pretty much the exact same result.

Guides Import genesis 8 character(only morph) to vam(with pictures)

I use that method too ,as you can go in edit mode of blender with the character selected .Alt+A to deselect all vertices use as the vertex icon , type in eye Select leye , reye or both and go on select . then its just a matter of fine tuning the eyes to fit .

I highly recommend trying to use blender to do all the weight transfer job to save the back&forth porting hassle, just need to first rig the clothing to the armature of G2F and then use a data transfer modifier on the clothing or use transfer weight command at upper menu in blender weight paint...

Guides Video guide for advanced clothing Imports without deformation

If anyone is having issues with this, first, make sure you have the Mesh Resolotuion set to Base on your DAZ G2 model before you export out to Blender. Need help with transfer or creation of model for VAM(Character model screen in desc)

My post on smoothing and subdivides in blender to mimic the final output in vam. It's not like a pro video, it's just me figuring out how to create morphs and have them appear in vam very close their blender counter part. DAZ sucks for morphing, so don't even bother with that. I'm sure zbrush...

For the model, I use Blender to sculpt and DAZ to apply the rig for VAM use =). For things like rigged assets, I use Blender to rig and Unity to apply the physics/collision information to create an asset bundle. Hope that answers your question! ^_^.

VaM 1.x Import/Export VAR Models into Blender for Game Modding?

My guide wont work for this, all you get is an extremely low res obj with no rigging whatsoever - the guide is meant as a quick and dirty way to sculpt an existing model. It's possible but far more involved, you would need to backport the vam model to daz, convert it to genesis8 then move to...
