Hi Guest!
Please be aware that we have released a critical security patch for VaM. We strongly recommend updating to version 1.22.0.7 using the VaM_Updater found in your installation folder.
Details about the security patch can be found here.
Since I often convert VAM models to Daz's Genesis8 models, I have some knowledge of Wrap4D. In fact, having just a head model is not a problem. Wrap4D can wrap the model after separating it, and it won't affect re-importing it into Daz.
Thank you for the tool you provided,I had already forgotten about this post. It seems that upgrading to a CPU stronger than the 7800X3D is already at its limit.
I usually play in VR, but two Female characters with tittymagic
This is the PC I'm currently using:
CPU:AMD R7 5800X(But this CPU can only run at 4.4GHz now.)
RAM:32G 3200MHz
GPU:RTX 4080 SUPER
I planning to upgrade the 5800X to 9700X with 64G/6000MHz or higher frequency memory.
Would upgrading...
Yes, it's not very practical to extract all var files without modifying the paths. Aside from clothing and morph files, other assets would require modifying the paths in the JSON files. If extracting just the clothing and morph files works, it would already help me a lot.:D
Not long ago, I posted a question on the hub about excessively reducing clothing duplication.
After some testing over time, I found that extracting assets from var files works fine for clothing and morph files, but VAM seems unable to read other items, including but not limited to assetbundles...
Perhaps I had some issues with my expression, and I apologize for that. What I meant to say is that there are still some Chinese creators on the hub, so there is no such thing as Chinese creators being 'suppressed'. What is being 'suppressed' are Chinese animation works, mainly due to copyright...
By the original company (similar to Japanese animation production companies like Ufotable). These works are copyright infringement. And because they are in China, content related to VAM in Chinese animation is widely disseminated. Of course, all of this only happens with well-known VAM character...
Thank you for your help. I think I need to test it to see how much it affects the scenes I currently need and whether I can accept that. I understand why the creators package VAR files this way, it makes things more convenient for their subscribers.
So I can delete duplicate clothes in the var package until only one is left? Then, theoretically, a character var package only needs morph files and texture files. I can extract the clothes and hair to the custom folder (because their paths are usually fixed) or repackage them into a new VAR...
Most of them are inside var package of the characters or scenes. My idea is unzip them so that they can cover each other. But it seems that the files will be more difficult to manage because of the lack of relevant tools, and if they're in different names folders,it's won't work
