I don't teleport, I just use the joystick to move around when needed. If too slow, you can increase the movement multipliers in the settings.

To be on the safe side, download the vam_updater.exe file, place it in a new folder like C:\VaM, and run it. If you still have the issue right at the start you'll want to try using a VPN to download it.
