I needed to delete VAM for a while, but wanted to save the config, lists of addons downloaded etc
Why not copy it to an external disk to later come back to it without having to download everything again (if even possible)? Local external storage is cheap. -

A scene can be made in endless ways and methods. If you want something that is easier to a beginner or don't know how to edit scenes in a deeper way, I suggest you try the vamX packages and UI. -

Guessing that what you did was to change the Cache folder to another partition and not actually change any partition of your disk with VAM (impossible) or doing partition changes while using VAM (that would be a terrible idea). I don't know what you want to make. Think of the tools I mentioned as LEGO blocks, it is up to you to learn and decide how to put them together to make the thing you want to build. -

Just to add something about Timeline. The tool is not an animation tool, it is for any kind of action that changes coordinates (move) over time or for events (triggers) over time. Animation is a common use for Timeline, but notice the name, it's a tool to manage something in a "time line"... -

The decision to downgrade to spinning HDDs is just as bad as having more than 2 TB of VAM content in active use. You can move out things you don't want to use that often to some other place, do you really need everything available at all times? -

I think that you should seriously consider running a slimmer VAM on SSD, and use the HDDs for archiving and backups. The more you have (kind of) the worst your performance is. Running such a large VAM with a spinner HDD is for those who enjoy torture. -

Old VAM scenes - best practice?
A resource with all the Sapuzex scenes exists here, unless you're eager to spend a lot of time redoing the work. They should work on the latest VaM, but the multi-scene setup is a pain compared to today's use of TImeline in a single scene.
