Unreferenced var mover

Other Unreferenced var mover

Contains executable files or external scripts. Ensure you trust the creator and apply your own security measures.
This is for those who have a lot of var files they are not sure can be safely deleted or not.
It will show all var files not referenced in any other var or vap file in your VaM install.

The zip file contains the python script and an exe file compiled from it.

How to use

Use the "Load Images" button to select the root of your VaM install, eg. the one containing the "AddonPackages" folder

  • Clicking an image will open the containing folder with the file selected.
  • Holding CTRL while clicking an image will move the corresponding file to the folder "_unreferencedVars" in the root of your VaM installation
Any var file you have favorited will be shown with a green mark.

Using the checkbox "Hide favorites" will hide any var files you have marked as a favorite in VaM. There's a good chance a big part of favorites are un-referenced, and will thus be shown.

The shown images is taken from the inside the var file. Based on the content, different images will be shown in the following priority:
  1. Show images in Saves/scene folder
  2. Show images that have the same name as the inner folder they are placed in
  3. Show images in the Person/Appearance folder
  4. If none of the above, just collect every image
When multiple images are found, the images will be concatenated together.

If there a lot of var files, the whole process can take some time, with the collection of images from var files taking the most time. With a library of 2015 var files and 487 un-referenced ones, it takes around 40 seconds from pressing load to finish.
Contains executable files or external scripts. Ensure you trust the creator and apply your own security measures.

I have a similar script except of favouriting, the vars I don't want to lose are kept in a folder called "Keep". Great work buddy. Good to see that other folks have been thinking about this problem too.
