Currently, even the best look-a-likes in VaM still don't look that convincing to me, especially up close. And yes, I have seen them all. I really can't explain why or what makes it so, but that's how I see it at its current state.

So until there are better and easier ways to create more convincing look-a-likes, this could be a good and direct way while we wait.

Can we use gifs or looping video clips? Also maybe somehow make it a little less, well... "masky."

I see your point, this is just a parody. as for the look-a-likes, the texture is gonna be the key, even the best morph 99% to the source, making 2d texture fit 3d models seems not so convincing, just my opinion, I have not done realistic model yet. probably a better render engine needed too, I recommand check out some artwork on artstation, where they create character in a much more realistic way. https://www.artstation.com/liaobo
